I have a problem that will probably be the reason why you’ll rarely see me in Sephora. I am an impulse buyer. Any time I am in a store for a bit too long or get a little too much attention from a sales associate, I always feel like I have to buy something to justify my time there, which is how I ended up with this nearly $40 bronzer. I saw, I swatched, I panicked, and I became mom to the Make Up for Ever Pro Bronze Fusion in 30M Sienna.
That Feeling When You Drop Your Pizza: To expound on the story from above, I hate when people try to help me at makeup stores. Moreover, I hate having to say “Hi, can I just get a bronzer that will show up on my face?” This one was the first that kind of complimented my skin, but it still gives more of a natural/sheer finish. This is also the 2nd to last shade, and – along with the last shade – is described as “ideal for tan skintones.” As you may guess, that’s a sign that the range does not lean deep enough. It’s also $36, which makes me wonder why there are all of these other brands with cheaper products that seem to have the money left over to invest in broader audiences, but MUFE couldn’t.
That Feeling When You Discover a New Slice: While I don’t think the shade range is as broad as it should be, I do think that the ideology behind it is fairly smart. They have 6 shades with 2 for each skintone (light, medium, and tan): a matte and an iridescent. If they’d open up to 8 or 10 shades to have room for dark/deep, I’d be golden!
As for the formula, I’m a fan. It’s very smooth and blends over the face like a dream. I’ve even worn it over my bare face and it wasn’t patchy. It gives a very natural bronze to the face and isn’t overly red or orange. Plus, it lasts all day, despite the summer heat. Bonus points: it isn’t chalky or powdery! There’s virtually no kick-up and I don’t think I’ve ever had a pressed powder compact that’s so clean on the inside after a month of daily use!
Honestly, I think this is a good product, but I don’t necessarily think I would repurchase it. I have a lot of friends that are darker than me, and while the formula is bomb, I don’t like that it doesn’t lean deep enough for them to join in on the fun! Also, I’m not really in the business of buying a whole lot of high-end makeup. This being said, if you are a MUFE stan or a high-end only beauty lover (who also fits in their bronzer’s shade range), you’ll probably love this!
