September Loves

September was not my month. I caught strep throat and pink eye at the same time and unfortunately fell into my regular routine of procrastination. I also realized that it is time to get serious about grad school and adult life and that I am definitely not ready for either. You may think this might put a damper on my favorites, but you’d be wrong! It wasn’t my best makeup month (I physically couldn’t wear much throughout the month) or my best skincare month (the stress got to me), but I still walked away a winner. To share the love, I present to you my winning products of September.

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

To my knowledge, Korean beauty trends are all about healthy, moisturized, and glowy skin, so this $8 product was something I was willing to get down with. I love to get adventurous with the texture of products, so there’s something very appealing about rubbing this gel into my skin. It’s very cooling on the skin and leaves my face a bit watery, then dries down to a slightly tacky finish. Once it’s finished working its magic, my skin is smoother and softer than ever!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Bronze Fusion

I did a post about this in August, where I claimed that it was pretty good, but definitely not something I would repurchase. While I still stand by every word I said, I must admit that it is growing on me. As my summer tan fades, it’s a bit more noticeable without being overpowering on the face. When I did wear makeup in September, it typically was more of a subtle look so this worked out perfectly for that.

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette

Don’t let the bold purples in this palette shock you! For a person who spent most of the month staying away from complex eye looks, if I even wore eyeshadow at all, this palette came through. The ultra-warm brown shades were great to pack onto the lid and blend into the crease, and the shimmery bronzes were great for if I wanted a little pizzazz. It isn’t so much that this palette was my favorite of the month, but that the color scheme is bomb. It’s definitely going to be my go-to for fall!

Honorable Lipstick Mentions

I didn’t wear a lot of lipstick, but when I did I favored more nude formulas. I am currently scraping the bottle to get to the last of my all time favorite lipstick: Ulta’s Matte Lip Cream in “Courageous,” which is a “my lips, but better” type of deal. I’m happy that I’ve actually made it through a lippie, but sad that I have to part ways with it. I’ve also been loving the ColourPop Matte Lippie Stick in “Taurus”, which is a warm brown for all of your subtle fall vibes. When I wanted a pop of color, I revisited my Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour lipstick in “Keep it Red.” It’s probably my most long-wearing lipstick with zero transfer that I own (which is great for when you have to blow your nose a lot, because the tissue won’t catch your lip color)!

90 Day Fiance

My roommates and I love flipping through the channels on our TV and watching whatever nonsense happens to be on, but none of us anticipated our obsession with the 90 Day Fiance franchise. The shows follow couples who plan to or are in the process of bringing their fiance to the U.S. on a K-1 visa, which requires them to get married within 90 days. Then we follow all of the trials and tribulations of their relationship. It’s a lot of miscommunication, screaming, and deceit. While there are dramatic couples who probably shouldn’t be together (such as Jorge and Anfisa and Karine and Paul), there are plenty of couples with pretty cute love stories that you’ll be rooting for all season long*!

*Except on Before the 90 Days. There no winners on that show, but its still a great dramatic watch!

What was your September love?

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
