Liv’s Chritmas Playlist – Blogmas Day 4

Christmas jams are my jam! I spend the months of January-October eagerly waiting for the time when it will become socially acceptable to tap into the rest of my Christmas playlist. Thankfully, that time is now. Well, for me the time for full on Christmas jamming actually began in mid-November, but the time for its blog appearance is now! Here are my favorite upbeat Christmas hits!

All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey

This holiday classic changed everything I knew about what Christmas music could be. To be honest, I don’t really think of this as a Christmas song, because it’s definitely in my general music playlist. All the time is “All I Want for Christmas is You” time. This being said, I cherish every play of it even more in December.

Underneath the Tree – Kelly Clarkson

Whenever I hear this song, I just can’t help but bounce around. It’s got a lot of rises and falls, many opportunities to do some elaborate and long shouty notes, and always brightens my mood. I’ve been listening to this every morning in the shower so that I can start my day off with positive vibes.

White Winter Hymnal – Pentatonix

This is definitely the slowest song in this collection, but it has the most interesting arrangement. Pentatonix flexes their acapella super powers and always manages to fool me into thinking I’ve been transported to snowy forest, even when it’s 60 degrees outside.

Santa Tell Me – Ariana Grande

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this, but I’m a huge Ariana Grande stan. Like an “I know all the words to all of her songs” type of stan. Like an “I have her calendar on my wall” type of stan. Like “I own her perfume, even though its way too sweet and doesn’t belong on my body” type of stan. But I’m also a critical stan, which is why you all should listen to this Christmas banger instead of her Christmas flop “Love is Everything.”

Baby! It’s Christmas – Jessie James Decker

I’m not country music’s hugest patron, so I have no clue how true country fans feel about this country Christmas tune, but I’m loving it. It’s one of my December shower jams, and I feel so bad for my neighbors and roommates who have to hear my overly accented cries of “Baby, it’s Christmas!” at 8AM.

One More Sleep – Leona Lewis

This is like the Hallmark movie of Christmas songs. It basically hits all the tropes: counting down, winter cold, loneliness, waiting for a lover, and having a romantic ending right before the start of Christmas. The only thing that’s missing is a “will they, won’t they?” plotline!

This Christmas – Donny Hathaway

My Christmas playlist always starts and ends with an iconic song. This Christmas is one of my favorite holiday songs, and I prefer the original Donny Hathaway version over any other recreation. When I was a kid, my dad would always play this when we put up and decorated our Christmas tree. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of my favorite holiday memories with my family.

When do you think is the appropriate time to bring out those Christmas jams?

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
