Winter might be the coldest season, but it definitely makes me feel nice, warm, and fuzzy on the inside. I love the aesthetic of snow (though the appeal of being out in it kind of fades after an hour), I enjoy the decorations, I’m a huge fan of the seasonal movies, and I’m all around down for any time of the year that endorses wearing a cozy sweater every single day. Most importantly, I enjoy winter because I get to break out all of my winter supplies. From clothes to cosmetics to entertainment, here are my winter essentials!
Forever 21 Christmas Sweater
I only own one Christmas sweater, and this it it! Is it tacky? Unfortunately not. It’s just a really soft, really cute, and really practical piece.
Ulta Matte Lip Cream in Passionate
This is definitely my go-to winter lipstick, because it does the least in the best way possible. It isn’t drying, which is a must because my lips are as dry as tree bark, and reapplies like a dream. Plus, the subtle rosey tones go great with my flushed cheeks and nose for those times when the wind goes too ham. I just pretend it’s a monochromatic look!
I used to have no clue that there were people out there who hated eggnog, but I learned from one trip out to get some with friends that apparently people despise this heavenly drink. I don’t know how anyone can hate something that’s literally made of winter magic, but to each their own. That just leaves more nog for me!
Who am I without my fuzzy socks? A lady suffering from freezing feet, that’s who! Most of my pairs are of the slightly festive variety, but I actually am an equal opportunity fuzzy sock wearer. I just need them to be warm, cozy, and tucked under a blanket. Who cares what color they are?
Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
Again, I am a dry girl. Dry humor, dry lips, and dry skin. I should really see a determatologist about that, to be honest. Thankfully, my general face area isn’t too bad in the winter time, but I still need something to treat the dehydration station between my eyebrows. I love this because it moisturizes and helps fade dark spots from acne!
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
I really should have just made a post about winter moisturization. Look, I need my lip balm year round, but I definitely need it this time of year. Thankfully, Burt’s Bees is coming through for me!
Bigelow Vanilla Chai Tea
This isn’t a super winter themed item, since I drink this year round, but I do more activities that warrant a hot beverage in the winter. I like to snuggle up in front of the ol’ electric fireplace with a good book or terrible Hallmark movie and a big cup of tea.
Last year I realized that I love cheesy Christmas movies. You can miss me in the summer with those predictable plotlines and casts of very generic actors, but once November hits, I become a changed woman. These are the only type of movies I want to watch, especially if it starts Lacey Chabert!
Every Pentatonix Holiday Album
I don’t think I ever enjoyed a full Christmas album until Pentatonix started releasing them. I lived in a world of carefully selected playlists and mixtapes. Now I have multiple albums to listen to all December long. They’re great, so don’t sleep on them!
