First Impressions: Trying New Makeup & Skincare – Blogmas Day 21

My travel cosmetics kit has recently got a little bit of a boost thanks to a few early Christmas presents and my poor packing skills. Rather than hoard these new items in secrecy, I decided to let you all know how I’m feeling about them in case you want to revamp your winter look or rush to the store to pick them up as a last minute gift (for others or for yourself)!

Profusion Glam Face Makeup Case

I’d never heard of this brand before, but it came in the mail as a gift from one of my aunts and I knew I had to take it for a spin. It comes with 4 eyeshadows (1 matte and 3 shimmers), 2 brow powders, a highlighter, a blush, some type of round blush or highlighter brush, and a dual ended blending and angled brush. The stand out products thus far are the black eyeshadow, which wowed me with its pigment, and the medium brown brow powder!

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer

I actually have used this concealer before, but the shade I previously used was so trash that I did not believe I could do a fair review on it. I did decide to try it again, this time with the shade “Deep,” which is not deep at all and gives my skin a very natural highlight. My first impressions is that the shade range is terrible and misleading, but it does do exactly what it claims: conceal and illuminate.

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam

I typically use the TONYMOLY Banana Cream Foam Cleanser, but I packed a nearly empty and it is not currently in stock on Amazon, which is why I decided to try something new. I’m still on my Korean face wash grind, which is why I paid $10 for this rice water cleanser. As a person who never measures anything in ml, I was shocked by the size of this 300 ml bottle. It’s huge! Thankfully, I’m like the face wash, so I’m actually glad I now own so much of it. It’s very moisturizing and gentle on the skin!

Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Polish in Shop Girl

I’d never used a Butter London nail polish before, but when I saw this on sale for $3 (the normal price was $12), I knew I had to take it for a spin. I had to watch 3 YouTube videos to figure out how to open it before I was finally able to dip into this polish. It sets pretty quickly on the nails and was fairly opaque after just one coat, even though it’s such a light shade. Unfortunately, it did chip a bit while I was washing my hair, but it’s holding up for the most part. I’m definitely excited to try more from this brand!

Butcher Boy 100% Pure Refined Coconut Oil

I may have bought this from the baking section of Dollar Tree, but I have no plans to put it in my food! This is purely a cosmetic purchase. I’ve used coconut oil on my hair before showering in the past and have liked the results, but this time I wanted to try out other uses. This morning I used it to make a DIY sugar scrub for my face, lips, and hands. I am currently feeling very soft and moisturized as opposed to my usual state of being crusty and dehydrated.

Rue 21 Endless Summer Perfume

This was a Christmas gift from my good friend Kimye! At first, I was a little afraid to dip into it. My sense of smell is slightly off, so I typically can only smell strong scents. I also am not the hugest fan of really sweet scents, which tend to be what’s very popular at these types of stores stores. Plus, it’s meant to be a summer scent and it’s mid-December. Thankfully, I actually like it! It’s a little citrusy, but not overly so. I would describe it more, but I just don’t have the nose for that. All I can say is that it’s good!

Are you trying out anything new? How do you like it?

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
