This lookbook was not what I envisioned. I pictured classic red lips, gold lids, and a beautiful burgundy crease. There’s not a single look in this lookbook that does all of that, but I still think it’s great for stepping out of that traditional holiday makeup box! I’m planning on having an ultra chill Christmas spent on comfy couches with lots of eggnog and a movie marathon, but if you’re an extra person looking to make your face a little bit extra too, this lookbook is for you!
This is my first and favorite look! I’ve gone for a sultry eye, using my Lorac Pro Matte Eyeshadow Palette. I blended the chocolate brown shade with the light mauve into my crease, packed the burgundy all over the lid, and popped a little of the gold highlight from my Beauty and the Beast palette onto the center. Because the colors are so dark and I didn’t want my eyes to look completely closed, I just did a thin line of liquid liner and popped on my Ardell Demi lashes. I kept the rest of the face fairly neutral with a mixture of the 2 lightest shades in my blush palette and the Ulta Matte Lip Cream in Tender.
This was my red lip fail! I had envisioned a bold smoky brown and green eye (like a Christmas tree) with a bold red lip. Unfortunately, I left both of my favorite red lips at school and the backups ran a little pink. At least the brown crease plus green lid combo using my NYX Avant Pop and Lorac Pro Matte palettes turned out good! To tie in some gold, I popped on my current go-to glow in Fearless!
This was my most simple look, but it received a lot of compliments from strangers when I wore it to go see The Last Jedi! Plus, it only took about 10 or 15 minutes to do! For the eyes, I used my new Profusion palette and popped the mauvey shade all over the lids and diffused it into the crease. Then I put the champagne shadow in the inner corner, added a small wing, and skipped the falsies. For a more monochromatic winter flush, I popped this berry shade from this L.A. Colors palette onto my lips and cheeks!
I had some red lip fails this go around. What’s your winning go-to red lip?
Thanks for reading!
Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
