Nighttime is my favorite time! It’s when the food tastes the best, my favorite shows come on, and living in low lighting “for the aesthetic” is 100% acceptable. It’s pretty much the time when I live my best life. Here’s how I throw down after hours!
Makeup Remove + Cleanse
Nothing says, “The day is over!” for me quite like taking off all of my makeup. I use the CVS brand sensitive skin makeup remover wipes, and follow them up with my rice water cleanser. Some people think that a wipe is enough, but no matter how hard I rub at my skin with one, I always still see tons of extra foundation being cleared off my face and running down my drain when I follow up with my cleanser. Always do a follow up!
I don’t put a mask on my face every single night, but on this particular night I went for my L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask. I like clay masks, because I can wear my glasses with them without ruining the whole process, and if you want to nibble on some chips or something while it’s on, you can (as long as you don’t try to open your mouth too wide during the last 5-8 minutes)! Unfortunately, there was no snackage during my own mask time, but I did start brewing up some tea!
“Anyone want a pickle?” my roommate asked while I was at the sink rubbing in my aloe vera gel after washing off my mask. I knew pickles would not pair well with the black tea I was brewing, but I’m not really in the habit of turning down pickles, so I agreed to one (and then two more) anyway. Can’t let good food go to waste!
Friendship Bonding Hour(s)
A typical evening for me is either spent catching up on my shows on Hulu, binge-watching an individual show on Netflix, or watching really terrible reality TV with my roommates. This particular evening consisted of that last option. We dabbled in some Food Network, where unfortunately no cooks were able to beat Bobby Flay. Then we watched an episode of Chopped and to my roommate’s surprise, her brother’s ex-girlfriend was one of the contestants! Let it be known, we did not finish that episode.
Last Minute Tasks
I’m most productive at night, so this is the time that I finish up any last minute tasks that I didn’t have the attention span to tackle when the sun was out. This might mean finishing up some readings for class, doing a short transcription on Rev, or working on a blog post.
What’s your favorite part of your nighttime routine?

Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
