We’re less than 30 days into spring and I’m already lit for the season. Gone are the days of my vampy lips and chocolate eye looks. Well, probably not. There are some looks I’ll never retire. That being said, I have a vision for my spring look that speaks to healthy skin, a fresh face, and some bright splashes of color. Here are my spring beauty essentials sure to help you capitalize on those seasonal vibes!
My two favorite palettes for spring are definitely the Lorac Unzipped palette and the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette. The pink and rosy tones of the Lorac palette make me feel like a flower in bloom! The Peanut Butter and Jelly palette is good for quick everyday looks, because I can just sweep on a few strokes of those warm matte tones, and the bronze and golds transition well into the summer.
I’m not a person who is interested in piling on the glow, but I can enjoy some products that give you a quick path to that whole “lit from within” aesthetic. The Lorac TANtalizer Baked Bronzer is a long time fave of mine and gives a natural bronzy glow that looks stunning on brown skin. My Make Up For Ever ProFusion Bronzer adds a light dose of tan factor to my face for that “does she go out and see the sun?” look that I crave. Lastly, the Lorac Beauty and the Beast Cheek Palette combines a glowy golden highlight with a few luminescent blushes so I can get my glow up without even thinking too hard about it.
The Rest of the Face
This combo is the triple threat for an healthy, natural look. In addition to providing some actual SPF (that will ultimately prove to be unhelpful because there’s no way I’m redoing my foundation every 2 hours to refresh its sun protection powers), the Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixer Foundation lives up to its name. It makes my skin look fresh, without being overly luminous, and gives me the medium coverage that I thirst for. The AOA Go Brow is the perfect way to add definition to lightly filled brows to get a feathery look. Lastly, this Elf Lip Lacquer in Natural adds the perfect touch of nude shine to my lips, though I always have to layer it with a nice brown lip shade so I don’t look like I’ve mixed Vaseline and powdered donuts on my mouth.
My two spring ready scents are Tempting by Sofia Vergara, which I begrudgingly love despite my general negative feelings about celebrity fragrances, and Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream. I like a fragrance that’s light and fresh and all around is not out here to do the most, but is out here to last for a long time on my skin. For my nails, I’ve been loving this Essie polish in Adore-A-Ball. It’s a very sheer nude pink that adds just a touch of razzle dazzle to your natural nails.
