Hello, friends! I’m back from my mini-blogging break and am here with a super late monthly favorites from July. I’ll start with some of the non-tangible favorites of last month, which include finishing up my summer term, finding an apartment, and turning 22! Now, on to all of my July loves that I can actually show pictures of!
I feel like I’ve mentioned this on the blog about 100 times, but foundations rarely ever wow me, even when I write reltatively positive reviews on them. This is one of the few “wow” products I’ve tried out (you can read all the great things about it here) and after purchasing it again, I still have the same opinion. Recently, it’s been giving me a lot of life as I pursue a more “natural” makeup look, but it still kills it when I need more intensity. Ultimately, it’s cheap and amazing and you should give it a try if you haven’t yet!
I feel like this has been a love of the month before, but good golly, it’s so good it needed to have a come back! It’s very rare that I am actually inspired by a lipstick. In fact, most days I take it out of my makeup routine completely, because that category of makeup does very little for me, but this is just a killer product that I have been doing the most with. Like, I’m talking some Frank’s Red Hot “I put that [sauce] on everything!” type of vibe. Eyes, lips, cheeks! You name it!
I’m going to be completely honest. I don’t know why I bought this triangle shaped brow pencil, because I generally think that this style of brow pencil is stupid and gimmicky. Plus, I had tried a different brow pencil from Miss A before, the Santee Eyebrow Sword Pencil, and it just wasn’t what I needed out of a pencil. Still, I bought this and I actually like it! It’s relatively firm and gives me a quick natural brow. I still prefer a thinner pencil, but I can definitely see myself repurchasing this in the future!
Stop spending your money on any blending sponges that aren’t from shopmissa.com, because the blending sponges on this site cannot be beat! This one is softer than the other two sponges I bought from them (hence, the “super soft”) and it’s from their Paw Paw line so the extra $0.55 added to the purchasing price gets donated to one of their animal rescue and adoption partner charities.
I’m back on my Harry Potter grind! It’s been really hard for me to find time for reading, and when I do have free time, I usually spend it on the last fave on this list. Nonetheless, I have slowly been making my way through this book and the corresponding episodes of Harry Potter and the Sacred Text. I’ve recently finished the episode they did with John Green and the only thing I have to say is that is that I took Latin in high school and it’s definitely pronounced “ak-ee-oh!”
Oh my goodness! Fun fact: I was obsessed with Teen Wolf back in high school and during my first year of undergrad. In fact, I even wrote an Anthropology paper all about the Teen Wolf fandom and fanfiction. I fell out of love with the show around season 4 and stopped watching completely at the start of season 5. Recently, I found out that it was on Amazon Prime, so I went back to enjoy the “final season” and loved it! Since I no longer consider myself a “super fan,” the stakes for watching were much lower and things about the show that previously would have made me angry actually just super funny. Now, I’ve started watching the older seasons and it’s pretty much all I do!
*Also, I apologize for the terrible photo quality! My camera and I have parted ways for the next week or so, which means that I have to take all of my pics on my phone!
What are your July loves?
Thanks for reading!
Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
