Well, it’s pretty far into the month of September at this point, so please excuse the belated nature of my August farewell. August was pretty good to me, though. I moved into my new (and first!) apartment, actually enjoyed a pint of Halo Top, and started the fall semester of my master’s program. To be completely honest, the month was kind of a blur, but here are the things I can remember loving!

St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter Lotion
In August I realized that there was no point in continuing to scrape out the last bits of product from my Soap & Glory body lotion. It was amazing and, unfortunately, it was all used up. I have been dabbling in cheaper lotions, but I have severely dry skin on my legs (curse you genetics!) and should probably see a dermatologist about it at some point. Until then, I’ve gone back to using my favorite lotion from high school and it’s just as good as I remember! It keeps my legs moisturized for days and only costs $5-6!
Wet N Wild Photo Focus Concealer
Every since I began wearing makeup, I’ve always been baffled by those people who just throw on concealer and mascara in the morning and walk out the door. Like, how??? Thankfully, my skin has cleared up with age (and Korean face cleansers), so I decided to finally give that lifestyle a try. I swipe a bit under my eyes, down my nose, and on the ever present acne spot on my chin and call it a day. I mean, of course I still do powder, brows, and mascara too – let’s not get too wild. It’s not an every day thing for me, but it’s pretty nice on those super hot and humid summer days.
This Brow Combo
It’s no secret that I love Miss A and their AOA collection has been giving my brows their best life this summer! The AOA Sculpting Brow Pencil in Dark Brown is perfect for a quickie natural-ish brow. Then I follow it up with the Go Brow Mascara to define the little brow hairs and add in some extra dimension. It leaves my brow looking like wow-wow-wow!
This Nail Hack
I’ve recently become obsessed with Simply Nailogical, AKA Cristine my tea queen, on YouTube. She did a whole video trying out stupid nail hacks on her channel, but one of the hacks turned out to be 100% certified as not stupid! Essentially you paint your nails with a clear coat, put a small square of a tea bag over the effected area while the nail is still dry, file it smooth, and seal it with another layer of clear coat. I’d heard this trick before, but had no clue how to do it up until that point! Because I had super long nails all throughout the month of August, this came in clutch for maintaining my aesthetic!
What’s your August love?
Thanks for reading!
Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
So exciting! Your own apartment. The perfect setting for your graduate studies. I loved having my own place. Enjoy!
