September Loves

Fall is upon us and I am ready for the overly hot month of September to come to a close. I need October to swoop in and save me with some cool autumn weather, spooky vibes, and lots of amazing makeup looks. That being said, I didn’t completely hate the month of September. This month I mainly stuck to my budget, rocked the best DIY manicures of my life, and replenished my hot cocoa stock! Those were some great nuggets, but wait… there’s more! Keep reading to find out the rest of my September loves!

AOA Wonder Skin Mattifying Face Primer

aoa wonder skin mattifying primerI am a little confused about why I bought this primer, because I was burned by the last AOA primer I tested out. It claimed to be pore filling, but was really just liquid glitter. This primer, thankfully, is the opposite of that. I wouldn’t say that it is the best mattifying primer in the world, but it does a pretty good job when integrated into my matte face routine. I put 2 dollops of it all over my face, set it with loose powder, put on foundation and concealer, set again, and my base stays in place all day!

Seche Vite Top Coat

When I was at my parents’ house in August, I discovered the magical powers of my mom’s Kiss Jet Dry Topcoat. It was a game changer and as soon as I returned home I rushed to buy it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it at any stores I went to (read: Kroger) or Amazon. I then decided to try out the Seche Vite Top Coat, which is a favorite of my YouTube nail queen Cristine of Simply Nailogical and is available on Amazon. Now, I can only say wow, wow, and WOW! My nails look like they were done in a salon and are completely dry in 10 minutes!

DIY Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

If you read my post about the 3 steps to the perfect shave, then you already know about the power of the scrub. Not only is a great way to prep my skin for shaving, but it works wonders on the rest of my body and on my face. It’s also super easy to make, since it’s just equal parts sugar and coconut oil. It’s perfect for lazy queens like myself!

Celestial Fireside Vanilla Spice Tea

I love tea. I probably drink about 1-2 cups a day at this point in my life and that’s mainly because my tea stock is not as large as I want it to be so I have to ration. Recently, I’ve been trying out new teas from different brands and this is the one that I’m loving the most. It’s spicy (not like it burns my tongue, but like it’s very well seasoned) and warms my whole body! It’s perfect for bringing in some early fall vibes!

Twitter

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: social media is hard for me. I’m currently trying to strike a balance between “I should do it for the blog” and “I should do it because I like it.” Thankfully, I’ve really been liking Twitter. There’s so much power in being able to share my weirdest thoughts, misfortunes, and moments with the world in short bursts. If that’s what you like, feel free to give me a follow: @andlivloves.

Samsung Health App

I originally just downloaded this app because I wanted access to the step counter, but now I’m loving it so much more than I expected. It’s a pretty run of the mill health app but I like it because it gives you mini rewards for achieving your goals. You can get badges for things like waking up on time, eating enough, walking more than you have before, and meeting your active goals. It also allows you to sign up for workout programs, that come with easy to follow video tutorials, which I am loving! I’m currently on my second program and am ready to try out more!
