An (Almost) Christmas Adventure – Blogmas Day 2

Happy Sunday friends! I decided to kick off this December season with a visit to a local Christmas lighting event! I was imaging a night of crispy cold weather, hot cocoa, Christmas jams, and beautiful trees! Unfortunately, I was too late to experience most of those things and it was pretty warm and rainy outside. This being said, I did still have a wonderful time exploring some of the art exhibits and other fun things at the same venue! Join me on my (almost) Christmas adventure!

The Venue

The event took place at Crosstown Concourse in Memphis, which is like a whole artsy city in a building. It has lots of arts studios, restaurants, shops, a gym, clinics, and apartments. This really came in clutch once the rain kicked up, because we could explore without venturing outside!

The Art

I met up with some of my friends who were already touring the art displays there. I saw some really cool pieces and some pieces that were … not for me. My favorite piece was one that you can actually watch for yourself! It’s the music video for “Chalo” directed by Jing Niu!

The Market

They did have a holiday popup shop going on, but my friends had already gone before I got there.  Instead, we went to a holiday market with goods from local artists. I saw some really cool pieces, but walked away with this adorable partridge in a pear tree card! I got it because I collect cards and because it was $4.

What festive things are happening your city?

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
