Hello, and welcome to my very, incredibly late update on all of the things from the month of April that gave me life! First, let’s start with the non-tangible thing that made my month great: I was offered and accepted a job! Woo-hoo! Come August, I will transform from a suffering graduate student into a working woman! All I need to complete this new me is a power suit! Now, on to my April loves!
Revlon PhotoReady Candid Foundation
I really wasn’t expecting to love this foundation so much when I bought it, but I do! It’s very natural on my skin and gives me a great medium coverage. I love it so much that I even chose to wear it on my graduation weekend! It does break up on my nose throughout the day, which is pretty wack, but that’s my only gripe with this product!
Elf HD Lifting Concealer
I recently did a review on this concealer and came to the conclusion that it’s a great formula with a horrible shade range. It has vitamins and green tea in it to supposedly help soothe and moisturize your skin. I can’t speak to it’s healing powers, but it doesn’t dry out my under eyes like most concealers do! It looks really healthy and natural on the skin and I truly hope they make it in more shades!
Elf HD Powder in Sheer
This is another product that I wasn’t really expecting to like at all, because I’m usually not very impressed with Elf complexion products. Surprisingly, this is a good one though! It’s very finely milled and it makes my skin look flawless. I could literally be having a terrible makeup day – cakey face, pores on blast – and this literally just smooths everything over and gives me the skin of a Bratz doll. That being said, buyer beware: this is an HD powder and that means that it is not flash photography friendly.
AOA Perfect Blush in Stunner
AOA products can be pretty hit or miss, but this blush is a hit! It totally lives up to it’s name, too! I won’t say that it’s the most iconic shade in the land, but it does give me a nice everyday flush. I’ve been wearing it almost every single day since I bought it. It’s a shade that goes with every look and lasts all day long! And it’s only one dollar.
Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Cream
Here’s the thing. I’m typically not very impressed with my hair. My mental image of it vs. what it looks like in the mirror is the grounds for the daily let down. That being said, I do get a lot of compliments on it and people are asking “What do you use in it?” And the answer is always, “Literally anything!” Well, this time my foolish spending of buying “literally anything” for my hair worked out, because this conditioning cream from Cantu is the truth! It nourishes my hair and leaves my curls popping, without weighing them down. It’s only about $5 so if you’re a curly queen like I am, go out and give it a try!
What was your April love (if you can remember back that far)?
Thanks for reading!
Until next time, have an awesome rest of your day and an amazing rest of your week!
