Beauty Launches Worth Losing My Paycheck Over

Hey y’all! I’m in the process of coming out of a makeup rut – that being, I’ve been wearing makeup every day, but gained very little joy from it. Don’t get me wrong – doing my makeup is always a good time! But I was missing that little spark of inspiration to do anything fun, cute, different, or extra fresh. And, yes, I love a good glowy, natural beat, but I also love a nice vibrant eye or bold lip and I haven’t done that in a minute. Thankfully, my love for stepping out of my comfort zone has been reborn and here are the product launches that are giving me life, making me lose all of my common sense, and really out here working for my wallet!

Too Faced Limited Edition Gingerbread Extra Spicy Eye Shadow Palette – $49

Okay, so I’ve seen the Shane and Jeffree Starr series on YouTube so I know that Too Faced is the literal embodiment of drama and scams at the moment. Despite that, I think I might be willing to invest in the scam???? Yes, wild. I know! But everything about this palette speaks to me! The warm tones, that deep emerald green, the golds, the pinks, the champagnes! I even love the packaging and I usually hate Too Faced packaging (it’s really clunky and I love cute, but it’s too much)! I can’t deal, y’all!

Too Faced Limited Edition Hot Buttered Rum Eye Shadow Palette – $25

I’m really having a Too Faced moment right now. Like, I’m looking at these palettes and I can’t breathe, because they’re so gorgeous!!! This palette is one that I know that I would get so much use out of, because it’s literally a combination of my go-to shades. I like warm tones, rusty shades, browns, and golds and they’re all here!

I also know that this would be a super travel ready product for me. I’m currently traveling with my Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette, which is the same size but I under-utilize about half of the shades in it. I know that I would use these shades constantly with the exception of those two shades on the left. Those aren’t my brand. Thankfully, the pans for those shadows appear to be a little smaller than the others, so I won’t feel too bad about overlooking them!

Beauty Bakerie Face Flour Baking Powder – $24

I’m so intrigued! Last time I went to Ulta, I decided to treat myself and test out a brand that I’d been eyeing for a while: Beauty Bakerie! I was not disappointed! I love the packaging, I love that they’re black owned, and I loved the performance of the products that I tried out! I’m currently wearing the InstaBake foundation and I’m a fan. At the moment, I’m wearing it with the Kodi Airspun powder, but I would love to know how it would perform with the powder from the brand. Plus, I want to own that little flour bag!

Holika Holika Heart Crush Lipsticks – $12

Alright, so this is not necessarily a new product, but Holika Holika is new to Ulta. I originally heard of them from watching Mimei on YouTube, who I have heard talking about the brand in her videos. I’ve enjoyed Korean skincare products in the past, but I’ve never tried any Korean makeup items before so I would love to know how they perform! Plus, this packaging is just the right amount of cute!

Essie 2019 Winter NAil Polish Collection – $9 Each

If you’ve been following my blog all year long, then you know about how my nail queen, Cristine of SimplyNailogical, has sparked my love for nail polish. At this point in time, I paint my nails at least once a week and have to resist even looking at the polish aisle of any store, because they will take my money! Recently, I’ve been eyeing Essie’s winter collection on the Ulta website and it’s everything I’m loving at the moment: glitter! The only polish that doesn’t really stand out to me is Caught on Tape, because I don’t like the look of a full on gold polish on my hands. Like, gold glitter topper: yes! Fingers dipped in pure gold: not me!

I also want to give an honerable mention to the There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays Duo. It’s got a rich navy blue that would look stunning on it’s own or topped with a mix of gold and silver glitter (ya girl loves glitter toppers)! I’m also pretty wowed by the silvery chrome shade that just gives me the most Decembery vibes!

A+: 10-Piece Bamboo Brush Set

This also isn’t a new launch by any means, but it is something that I’ve been meaning to pick up for a while! I’m really in need of some new brushes. For one, some of my brushes are literally falling apart. For two, I hate cleaning my brushes and the more brushes I own, the longer I can go without cleaning them. Of course, that’s still a pretty gross way to live my life, but I’ll feel better about living that way!

  1. The Too Faced Hot Buttered Rum Palette looks so cute and so far I’ve heard great things in reviews. Beauty Bakerie always has such cute packaging too!!

I’m really excited about the new Huda Mercury Retrograde Palette, as well as the new Melt Cosmetics Holiday Collection. Still waiting on details such as price and release date for Melt, but the palette really caught my eye.
