Hey y’all! It may not be freezing cold where I’m at, but still I’m 100% feeling the winter spirit! I’m talking chunky sweaters, fleece lined leggings, warm coats, and cozy oversized scarves. It’s basically what I’m wearing every day in my dreams. But here’s something that I don’t have to dream about: hot cocoa. I’ll literally drink it at any time of the year, but since it’s December now, I can give it some festive flair. Here is my ultra festive, super quick, 3 minute eggnog hot cocoa recipe!
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa (I use the Nestle Toll House Baking Cocoa)
2 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup of water or milk
1/4 cup of eggnog
Easy as 1-2-3
- Mix together the cocoa and sugar in a mug.
- Pour boiling water or hot milk into the mug.
- Add in your splash of eggnog.
As you can see, it’s basically the easiest recipe ever and I’m so glad that I know how to make it now. I 100% thought that it would be way harder to make hot cocoa, but it’s not. And now I can finally put all the baking cocoa I bought when I was having a “brownie moment” to good use!
Recipe note: I recommend using milk for this recipe, because it adds a whole lot of richness to the chocolate. Unfortunately, I’m lactose intolerant and don’t like the taste of hot cocoa made with almond milk. It definitely doesn’t taste as good with water, which is why the addition of the eggnog is important to add in a nice, creamy flavor.
What’s your favorite December drink?
